Have you ever wondered of why the Bible is so revered by millions of Christians, however hated and ridiculed by so many others? The Bible is unique; it has been the best seller of all times and in every year. The Bible has been translated in far more languages and dialects, than any other book religious or non religious. What is it unique about this book? The Bible covers a period of 1600 years, and was written by 40 different men from all walks of life. Some were kings, others prophets, others simple fishermen and farmers. Some were highly educated like Moses and the apostle Paul, others had no formal education. More than 3000 times these men claimed what they wrote came directly from God. As impossible that this may seem the record speaks for it self. Jesus himself stated that the Old Testament is God’s Word in Mat. 5:17; 24:15; Luke 24:44; Jn. 10:35. One sure way to prove the Bible’s accuracy and veracity is to analyze the Hebrew Scriptures’ prophecies. Unlike the self proclaimed prophets of yesterday and today, such as Nostradamus, Edward Cayce, or Jeanne Dixon; Jesus and the biblical prophets did not peddle prophecies that were so vague and general they could be adjusted to any situation. Bible prophecies instead are very precise and so specific that when they are fulfilled, it’s very clear. The Bible is a book of prophecies, it contains about 1000, and about 500 of them have been fulfilled down to the minutes detailed. King David wrote in Psalm 119: 105-106 “Your Word is a lamp to my fee and a light to my path. I have sworn and confirmed that I will keep Your righteous judgments” It is more than a book. It is a light that shines in dark places, and gives you direction and purpose to live by.
